The more serious backpackers can take on the Lost Turkey Trail, a 26-mile trek that ventures through state park land, state forest/state game land and private properties. This trail includes the namesake of the park, which is the second highest mountain in Pennsylvania, Blue Knob. The mountain reaches a whopping elevation of 3,146 feet. Overnight camping is allowed by permit, or you can choose to day hike the trail in shorter sections.

Don’t forget about the great fishing, trapping, and hunting opportunities! Brook trout and other fish varieties can be found in Bob’s Creek and its feeder streams, we are told that April through June, as well as early fall are the best times. During hunting season, hunters have over 5,000 acres of authorized hunting land where common game species reside. These include white tail deer, squirrel, turkey and grouse.
