Presque Isle State Park

Presque Isle State Park is a 3,200 acre sandy peninsula that arches around Lake Erie in Pennsylvania. This state park is one of the PA’s most beautiful coastlines and offers a number of daytime recreational activities. Because of everything there is to do, the beauty and cleanliness of the beaches, and the memories our customers make while visiting Presque Isle State Park, this is one we would definitely recommend taking your RV rental to.

Presque Isle State Park Activities

Hiking

Presque Isle State Park offers over 11 miles of trails which welcome hiking enthusiast across the country. The trails vary in difficulty and length and intertwine and connect throughout the park so it is a good idea to bring a hiking trails map along. These specific trails do not allow biking or in-line skating.

Biking and In-Line Skating

The Karl Boyes Multi-purpose National Recreation Trail makes a 13.5-mile circuit of the park. This paved trail is designated as a National Recreation Trail and is popular with bicyclists, in-line skaters, and joggers.

Swimming and Boating

The sandy peninsulas, which outlines Presque Isle State Park, make up some of Pennsylvania’s most sought after beaches. There are nine beaches that are open during the summer months for swimming. The majority of the beaches have their own restroom and concessions stands. Non-powered watercrafts and registered motorboats are permitted in the state park. There are a total of four boat launches available to guest throughout the park.

Wildlife

Because of the diversity of ecological zones at Presque Isle State Park, many different species of plants and wildlife inhabit the park from the shoreline to the forest. Of all the plants and animals on Presque Isle, birds are the most observed. Because the state park is a favorite spot for migrating birds, Presque Isle State Park has been rated by Birder’s World magazine as one of the top birding spots in the country. The park is home to a number of endangered, threatened, and rare aviary species, which has contributed to making Presque Isle State Park a beloved National Natural Landmark.

Even though Presque Isle State Park is only a day park, and does not allow camping, it is still a great stop to make while traveling throughout the state of Pennsylvania in an RV rental.
